The claims date back to 1993, when Adams and his accuser, a woman, both worked for the city of New York. Mayor Adams denies the allegation.  American actor Jamie Foxx is also facing sexual assault allegations. The suit states the alleged assault occurred in 2015 at a New York City rooftop bar.

Jane Hisako Sakuma (nee Imamura), 88, of Kahului, Hawaii, passed away on December 14, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1935, in Lahaina, Maui, to parents Otohiko Imamura and Torri Imamura. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Yoshi Sakuma, in 2018. Jane is survived by her three children: her first daughter, LeeOna Yee, and her spouse Edward Yee; her second daughter, Toni Ann Matsuura, and her spouse Mark Matsuura; and her youngest son, Terry Sakuma, and his spouse Kay Sakuma.
