Breeze Airways to begin daily service out of Provo Airport
PROVO, Utah — As Provo celebrates the opening of its new $55 million airport terminal, Breeze Airways announced it will begin daily service from Provo to five destinations.
The destinations include nonstop routes to Las Vegas (beginning Oct. 5), San Francisco (Aug. 4) and Los Angeles (Nov. 2) and one-stop flights to New York/Winchester (Oct. 5) and San Bernadino, California (Aug. 4).
“It’s been the question on everyone’s lips since we first opened our offices in Cottonwood Heights — when are you flying from Utah?” said Breeze’s Founder and CEO David Neeleman. “We’re excited to continue growing and hiring from here, and now flying from here. The beautiful, newly renovated Provo Airport will give our guests an easy-breezy way to travel to both coasts.”
Breeze will be the second airline to serve Provo, joining Allegiant Air, which plans to open a four-aircraft, $95 million base at the airport later this year.
Allegiant began flying out of Provo in 2013 and currently offers eight nonstop routes to destinations in Arizona, California, Texas and Florida. More than 700,000 passengers have flown Allegiant Air out of Provo in that time.
“Provo is a city that makes big plans and we at Allegiant are proud to be part of the expansion of the airport and growth throughout the area,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of planning and revenue. “Building on the success of eight existing routes at PVU, we will invest in locally-based aircraft and crews, opening the door for future new destination opportunities for residents.”
The new terminal will offer several new amenities, including a family lounge, more seating for passengers, new retail and dining options and a reunion court with floor-to-ceiling glass for a clear view of arriving passengers.

It also features four gates with the possibility of expanding to 10 gates in the future.
“The forward-looking terminal design not only provides more gates and destinations; it is designed to enhance the travel experience from curb to flight,” said Brian Torgersen, interim Provo Airport manager. “Quick gate access and short lines reduce travel hassle; additions of baggage carousels, jetway and rental cars increase travel convenience.”
Breeze opened its Cottonwood Heights headquarters in February 2020. The airline opened a training academy in Salt Lake City for pilots, flight attendants and employees and it expects to hire an additional 200 team members with its new base in Provo.
