Jane Hisako Sakuma (nee Imamura), 88, of Kahului, Hawaii, passed away on December 14, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1935, in Lahaina, Maui, to parents Otohiko Imamura and Torri Imamura.
Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Yoshi Sakuma, in 2018. Jane is survived by her three children: her first daughter, LeeOna Yee, and her spouse Edward Yee; her second daughter, Toni Ann Matsuura, and her spouse Mark Matsuura; and her youngest son, Terry Sakuma, and his spouse Kay Sakuma. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Ashley Sanders and her spouse Chris Sanders, Lyndsey Matsuura, and Brent Yee. Additionally, she had a great-grandchild named Zion Jayden Sanders.
Jane had a passion for cooking and was known for her delicious meals. She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating dishes for her family and friends to enjoy.
Jane attended Lahainaluna High School, graduating with the Class of 1953. She furthered her education at Honolulu Business School. She also attended Kam 3rd School in Lahaina during her primary education.
Throughout her career, Jane worked in the billing department at Maui Medical Group. She was dedicated to her work and always strived for excellence.
A memorial service to honor Jane's life will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului, Hawaii, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11 am. Visitors are welcome to pay their respects starting at 10:00 am.
