Exclusive: Kalki Koechlin on Goldfish and motherhood: It made me question who I was
After exploring her range between Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and the recently released Made in Heaven, Kalki Koechlin is set to star in Goldfish. The film directed by Pushan Kripalani revolves around a young woman who returns home to care for her mother suffering from dementia.In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, the actress who is a mother herself, opened up about motherhood. "It's definitely made me question who I was before. It just reminded me of the things that are very important to me because you get so caught up in your career and your next movie and what you're going to do. Sometimes all that is stripped away when you're a mother because you can't go to work, you can't sleep. You're just a slave to this little child crying."
She added, "Suddenly you're like, 'Okay, what really matters to me at this moment. It's this bond, it's only the people I love. You start getting reminded of what matters in this life. And that's just a wonderful feeling."
Goldfish also features Deepti Naval, Rajit Kapoor and others. The film is set to release on September 1, 2023.
