Call of Duty League 2022 rosters, teams, schedule, and more

The 2022 Call of Duty League season looks set to be one of immense change – and we’re not talking about the switch from Black Ops Cold War to Vanguard. With two titans of CoD esports merging on the franchise side of things, and a whole host of big roster shake ups too, the lay of the land will be remarkably different from the 2021 season.

CDL 2022 Roster Mania was just as hectic as the year prior, with several major roster changes, high-profile retirements, full roster wipes, and a brand new franchise entering the scene. As well as all the roster news for next season, CoD esports fans are also wondering whether the format and structure of the CDL could also change for 2022.

The offseason has brought a whirlwind of new information, so that’s why we’re bringing it all into one handy place for you. Rosters, formats, rule changes, new teams, you name it – we’ve got it all right here.

Here’s everything we know about the 2022 Call of Duty League so far.

CDL 2022 teams

For the 2022 CDL season, we have a slightly different looking lineup of teams. Two of the biggest names from last year, Dallas Empire and OpTic Chicago, have merged to form OpTic Texas. Filling the 12th spot will be a brand new name in the CDL: Boston Breach.

This the lineup of CDL 2022 teams at the time of writing:

CDL 2022 rosters

The CDL 2022 rosters are now all finalised for the start of the season. Some teams have stuck with their successful 2021 rosters, while some have fully squad wiped and start the year with four completely different players.

Atlanta FaZe CDL 2022 roster

Atlanta FaZe has, understandably, made zero changes to its 2021 CDL Championship-winning roster, and the quartet will remain together for 2022.

  • McArthur ‘Cellium’ Jovel
  • Tyler ‘aBeZy’ Pharris
  • Chris ‘Simp’ Lehr

LA Guerrillas CDL 2022 roster

Minnesota Rokkr CDL 2022 roster

After a strong finish to last season, Minnesota Rokkr has decided to remain unchanged for the 2022 CDL season. We could see a promising young gun picked up as a substitute before the season starts, but the core remains the same.

  • Dillon ‘Attach’ Price
  • Eli ‘Standy’ Bentz

OpTic Texas CDL 2022 roster

Arguably the biggest move in Call of Duty esports team history is the merger between OpTic Gaming and Team Envy’s Dallas Empire franchise. As a result, we have a new brand for 2022, OpTic Texas, which boasts a roster that combines two Empire players and two OpTic players.

  • Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell
  • Seth ‘Scump’ Abner
  • Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro
  • Indervir ‘iLLeY’ Dhaliwal

Toronto Ultra CDL 2022 roster

After a stellar 2021, Toronto Ultra will keep hold of all four of its starting players for the 2022 CDL season. It has, however, already revealed that  substitute Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni is free to explore other opportunities.

  • Jamie ‘Insight’ Craven
  • Cameron ‘Cammy’ McKilligan
  • Ben ‘Bance’ Bance
  • Tobias ‘CleanX’ Juul Jønsson

2022 CDL schedule

The schedule for the 2022 CDL season has now been revealed, with the league kicking off on January 21 with the Kickoff Classic weekend.

LA Guerrillas vs Florida Mutineers will be the first fixture of the season.

Check out the full CDL 2022 schedule here.

2022 CDL format

The 2022 CDL will follow a similar format to the previous season, but with some tweaks.

The general structure involves four stages, each with their own LAN major, and teams earn CDL points at these events. All 12 CDL teams will compete at each major, but their performance in the qualifier weeks beforehand will determine their seeding.

The season will again culminate in the CDL Playoffs and CDL Championship Weekend. The top eight teams from the regular season will make it to the Playoffs.

That’s all we know so far about the 2022 Call of Duty League. With new rosters, who knows which team will come out on top for the Vanguard-era of the CDL.
