Eagle Foothills home destroyed after large fire; no injuries reported
EAGLE, Idaho (KBOI) — An Eagle home in the foothills was destroyed Tuesday afternoon, prompting a large response from firefighters across the Treasure Valley.
The fire was reported on the 3800 block of Holl Drive.
Eagle Fire crews say the fire broke out at about 12:20 p.m. after it was reported by a neighbor. When firefighters arrived, about half of the home was fully engulfed.
Everyone managed to get out of the house OK.
The home's long driveway made it difficult for water supply fighting the fire, Eagle Fire told members of the media.
It's unclear at this point what started the fire. Firefighters are also trying to help the family salvage anything they can. Crews will likely be at the site until late Tuesday.
The family is being supported with the Eagle Firefighters Burnout Fund.
Eagle Fire was assisted by fire crews from Meridian, Star, Boise, Middleton, and Gowen Field.
Police are encouraging folks to stay away from the area.
